Cashie’s Crew is Christened

On a spectacular spring day, San Miguel Academy christened Cashie’s Crew, one of two boats added to the fleet this year. Donated by Tom and Bonnie Grace, the boat was named in honor of Bonnie’s sister and longtime super fan of San Miguel Academy, Cashie Egan.  As she does each month, Cashie had brought homemade cupcakes to celebrate April birthdays with song and merriment.

San Miguel Academy is fortunate to have launched two new boats this year: Cashie’s Crew and The Lucy D, donated by Patrick Donnelly in honor of his wife, Lucy.  Patrick previously donated the Thomas Donnelly, in memory of his brother.  San Miguel Academy rowers are proud to train and compete in boats that reflect the commitment of our donors to their success.

The rowing program supports the mission of San Miguel Academy: to break the cycle of poverty through education. It has proven to be significantly beneficial in helping our students secure top-level educational opportunities in high school and college. 100% of the middle school student body now benefits from the program, which has a significant impact on their health and overall well-being. We are grateful for the generous support of our donors, which makes the entire program possible!
