San Miguel Program has served over 250 students and their families since opening in 2006. San Miguel Academy is 100% scholarship driven in order to attract low-income families and provide them with academic, psychological and spiritual support. The San Miguel Program is funded independently through grants and the generosity of benefactors, and does not receive funding from NY State or the Archdiocese. In December 2019, San Miguel Academy received its Certificate of Accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and School Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools.
San Miguel Program is comprised of five platforms:
San Miguel Academy: a 5th–8th grade, MSA-CESS accredited, middle school, where students develop a sense of responsibility, respect and readiness for accessing an educational path appropriate to their talents.
Soaring Eagle Enrichment (after-school ) program: students are engaged in a positive learning environment that allows them to further explore their interests and develop their talents.
Summer Scholars Program: an extended six-week academic program from July to August to prevent the summer slide and keep students safe from some of the most violent streets in the nation during summer break.
Graduate Success Program: our high school and college guidance and placement support, test preparation, tutoring, mentoring and counseling services for San Miguel Academy graduates.
Child and Family Services: connects each student to our social worker and collaborative affiliations with Catholic Charities to offer preventative programming and positive reinforcement.
