Deerfield Rowing Coach, Spencer Washburn, visited San Miguel Academy rowers on November 15th to thank them for the contribution each is making to the sport. Spencer told our athletes that they are creating “real change” in the sport.
Spencer was joined by Deerfield Director of Admission Amanda Bohnsack, and San Miguel Program Board member, Vanessa Lewis, and took a tour of the School, including our newly renovated STEAM Learning Center where Gustavo Laureano demonstrated his flying capabilities on the StemPilot.
Spencer, a true New England Patriots Fan, was happy to acknowledge the abundant generosity of the New York Giants organization, and the Mara Family, as SMA Rowers were recently awarded the “Latino Achievement Award” for their accomplishments.
Following the tour, Spencer spent time instructing the young rowers on our ergometers.
