San Miguel Rowing featured in Catholic New York

Reporter Dan Pietrafesa and photographer Chris Sheridan of Catholic New York spent an afternoon at San Miguel Academy in April 2022 to profile the San Miguel Academy Rowing Program. They accompanied the team to the river for rowing practice, and Chris Sheridan jumped on the coach’s boat to photograph the action from the water!

The San  Miguel Academy Rowing Program has the double distinction of being one of the largest middle school and largest minority rowing programs in the country. Students train year-round and row on the Hudson River, competing in regattas as well as dry-land eragattas.  The rowing program has proven to be significantly beneficial to obtaining continuing educational opportunities for our students. Rowing creates access to educational paths that support the mission of San Miguel Program: to break the cycle of poverty through education and opportunity.  Read Catholic New York article.
