Peggy Brady-Amoon has more than 30 years’ experience as a counselor and counselor supervisor in programs that serve at-risk youth in educational, community agencies, and residential treatment facilities for court-referred youth. She is particularly proud of her work with college academic support programs that admitted, retained, and graduated low income students of color at higher rates than their more privileged peers. Her research is focused on educational and career development, with a particular emphasis on access and opportunity for under-respected people. She earned a BA in Political Science and Spanish from SUNY Oswego, a MS in Counseling from Long Island University, and a Professional Diploma in Counseling and Personnel Services, and PhD in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University. She is proud to be a long-time volunteer with San Miguel Academy of Newburgh, which is truly helping many defy the odds.
