Programs

Since 2006, San Miguel Program has been an “oasis” to the most vulnerable demographic in Newburgh, boys and girls from low-income families targeted most at risk of dropping out of school. The need to provide a “whole” education requires services beyond the classroom. San Miguel Program is comprised of five platforms:

San Miguel Academy of Newburgh (SMA), a 5th–8th grade middle school, where students develop a sense of responsibility, respect and readiness for accessing an educational path appropriate to their talents.

Soaring Eagles Enrichment (SEE), where our students are engaged in positive learning environments that allows them to further explore their interests and develop their talents.

Summer Scholars Program (SSP), an extended six-week academic program from July to August to prevent the summer slide and keep students safe from some of the most violent streets in the nation during summer break.

Graduate Success Program (GSP), our High School and College guidance and placement support, test preparation, tutoring, mentoring and counseling services for San Miguel Academy graduates.

Child and Family Services (CFS), which connects each student to our social worker and collaborative affiliations with Catholic Charities to offer preventative programming and positive reinforcement.
