Admissions

Admissions

San Miguel Academy of Newburgh welcomes boys, as long as they have the will to learn and a desire to succeed in their personal, spiritual and educational lives. Preference is given to those students with demonstrated financial need. Admission is based on a number of factors including an application process, student and family interviews, and performance and evaluation during an incoming 5th grade summer program. San Miguel Academy of Newburgh recognizes that each student brings with him a unique learning style, and every attempt is made to differentiate instruction to best serve each student.

Ninety-five percent of the student body at San Miguel Academy is eligible for free or reduced price meals under the federal Child Nutrition Program.

The students are primarily Hispanic (67%) and African American (30%), with 3% of mixed race origin.
San Miguel Academy requires that parents/guardians commit to supporting their students in their pursuit of academic success. San Miguel understands that here is a direct correlation between parental/guardian participation and the academic achievement of the student.
