Mapping Student Progress- rubric tool, portfolio assessment

Mapping Student Progress- rubric tool, portfolio assessment

A student’s progress is mapped using a various array of assessment tools including portfolio assessments, rubrics and online assessments. Portfolio assessments afford us the opportunity review student progress over his course of time at SMAN. Portfolio assessments contain samples of work from all areas of study including PBL measurements.

Based upon the objectives of specific projects, rubrics are used to identify and evaluate the project goals.  Rubrics allow us to individualize our objectives and expected outcomes for every student. The rubrics help to evaluate students with varying learning styles.

Online assessments factor into student mapping in that they are fast and efficient ways of mapping progress that can provide teachers with results on a daily basis. Online assessments are available for all subjects and provide immediate results which are then sent directly to the teachers.
